What is Supported Living?

Our objective at Ceibraxs Care Agency is to deliver, promote and provide supported living services of the highest quality to help individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities and/or challenging behaviour lead independent lives.

In supported living, people usually have their own home or a tenancy in shared housing and receive flexible support with the parts of daily life they find difficult – from personal care to budgeting, social inclusion and managing health. The focus is on maximising choice, control and independence rather than providing institutional care.

Who we support in Supported Living

We work with adults over 18 who need support to live independently in the community.

  • People with learning disabilities or autism

  • People with enduring mental health conditions

  • Adults with physical disabilities or sensory impairments

  • People whose behaviour may be described as challenging

  • Individuals transitioning from residential care, hospital or family homes into more independent living

Our approach to Supported Living

Respite care is usually a temporary package that we tailor to your specific situation. Our carers can provide live‑in, hourly and nightly in‑home respite services.

1 — Person‑centred and outcome‑focused

We work with each person to understand their goals – from daily routines to bigger dreams – and design support around what matters most to them

2 — Promoting choice and control

Wherever possible, we support rather than take over, giving individuals real choices about their home, routines, relationships and activities.

3 — Positive behaviour support

For people whose behaviour can be challenging, we use proactive, respectful strategies based on understanding triggers and communication, not punishment or control.

4 — Partnership with families and professionals

We work closely with families, landlords, commissioners and clinical teams to create safe, stable and sustainable packages of support.

Accommodation and support packages

We can provide support to people in their own homes, family homes or tenancies, and can work with housing providers where new placements are needed. Support can range from a few hours a week to 24‑hour packages including sleep‑in or waking night staff. We will work with you and your funders to design a package that balances independence, safety and value.
